Conduct Your Own Online Research: Ordinances, resolutions and other legislative documents dating back to 1981 are available in the online versions of the Journals of the Proceedings. Additionally, City Council Committee Meeting notices, agendas and final summaries are also posted here. To the extent that the City Clerk's Office maintains or possesses any information regarding the items described in your request, it is available on the City Clerk's website as mentioned above. The availability of this information on the Clerk's website satisfies the public disclosure requirements of FOIA. If you do not have access to a computer, computer kiosks are available for the public to conduct online legislative research in the City Clerk’s Council Division, located in City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle Street, Lower Level Reception Area. Requesting Information from other City Departments: In response to a request that the City Clerk's Office forward your request to other City agencies, please be advised that each City department is a “public body” under Section 2 of FOIA, 5 ILCS 140/2(a). Therefore, it is the responsibility of the requester to direct the request to the appropriate department. We can only respond on behalf of the City Clerk's Office.
