2025 Updates from the Office of the City Clerk

(Please note: Our office will be closed on January 1, 2025, in observance of New Year's Day.)

Starting January 1, 2025, the following changes will go into effect:

New office operating hours

Starting January 1, 2025, all City Clerk locations will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To find a location near you, please visit the "Contact Us" section of our website. 

Residential Parking Passes (Guest Passes)

The cost for a sheet of 15 Residential Parking Passes will increase from $8 to $15 per sheet.

Adding a zone to your City Sticker

In 2025, adding zone parking to your City Sticker will go from $25 to $30. In 2026, this will increase to $35.

City Sticker transfer and reissues

The Transfer and Reissue Fee will increase from $5 to $20.

Senior license types

For senior license types, the costs below will be frozen.

  • The City Sticker Annual Zone Fee will remain at $25.
  • The Transfer and Reissue Fee will stay at $5.

Fix-it Defense: Department of Finance

Under the Department of Finance’s Clear Path Relief Program, Chicagoans can use the Fix-It Defense program to contest a City Sticker violation one time. Fix-It Defense allows Chicago motorists to have a City Sticker ticket dismissed by showing proof of compliance.
