The Office of the City Clerk is excited to announce the completion of a first-of-it's kind CityKey online platform, giving residents another way to get their free CityKey card!
Chicagoans can now apply for a CityKey online and once their information verified, they can receive your CityKey card through the mail. Applicants will need to upload the proper documents along with a passport-size photo, the steps can be found in the Applying for your CityKey section.
Remember, all information uploaded to the online platform is retained according to the City’s retention schedule. If applicants do not wish to have their data stored, they can still attend a printing event using the CityKey appointment system.
CityKey Appointment System
To attend an in-person CityKey printing event, Chicagoans must schedule an appointment using the CityKey appointment system. We created the appointment system to remove uncertainty and allow you to reserve a time slot at a CityKey event. You can follow the instructions in our Applying for your CityKey section.
With the new system, you can schedule, view or cancel your appointment by clicking on the lookup an existing appointment and cancel or reschedule an appointment buttons on the appointment homepage.
Remember, you must bring the confirmation code that was provided to you by the appointment system. The confirmation code must be presented at the time of the appointment to enter the event and apply for a CityKey.
Please note, that a record of your email address will be kept and used to provide you with CityKey appointment details.
